Goodyear Super-Cushion Air Springs

Just as effective, yet lower in cost than air or hydraulic cylinders in most actuation applications.  Years of proven durability in vibration isolation applications.

Super-Cushion air springs are ideal for air actuation and for isolation of disturbing vibration.  They are designed to replace more expensive air or hydraulic cylinder in actuation, and less effective steel springs in vibration isolation.  Super-Cushion air springs are high strength, rubber/fabric, flexible air containers sealed by end retainers at each end.  They can be operated vertically, horizontally, or at an angle.  With many Super-Cushion air spring designs, the retainers or flexible members can be easily replaced in the vent of damage. In operation, air pressure inside the flex member exerts internal force in an axial direction to produce a stroke for lifting, pushing, gripping, compacting or tensioning a variety of materials or objects.  Super-Cushion air springs can also be applied to produce rotary or quick-clicking motions.  Air-operated Super-Cushion air springs provide controlled support for load leveling and superior vibration isolation.

In actuation, Super-Cushion air springs can provide constant or variable force and low profile, with up to 13" of stroke.  They have a proven record of long life and ease of maintenance.  And they are lower in cost than either air or hydraulic cylinders.  In vibration isolation and load leveling the variable load capacity and low natural frequency of the Super-Cushion designs provide superior isolation and long life.

SUPER-CUSHION AIR SPRING COMPONENTS
The rubber flex member is built with a tough rubber lining and outer cover, reinforced by high strength synthetic fabric.  This flex member is fitted with rust-resistant retainers at each end.  The upper retainer is tapped to accommodate an air fitting, an both retainers have recessed blind taps or protruding bolts for mounting to machinery.  Depending on the size and type of assembly , end retainers are either permanently crimped on, or reusable   (in Goodyear's "take-apart" design).
